Caritas Europa is a network of 49 Caritas organisations across the European continent. This combination of organisations which spans across 46 European countries makes Caritas Europa one of the greatest social actors in Europe.
They focuses on issues of poverty, social exclusion and inequality, migration and asylum within Europe, using its voice to influence policy within the European Institutions and European member states.
Caritas Europa also facilitates the sharing of best practice and encourages the building of networks between the Caritas member organisations.
The secretariat of Caritas Europa is located in Brussels, with Erny Gillen as the President and Jorge Nuño Mayer as the Secretary General.
