On 13 October 2009, CSAN has launched "It's still Me, Lord..." a new project exploring the spiritual and religious needs of people with dementia.  A film focused on the Catholic community in developing awareness of the spiritual and pastoral needs of people with dementia and their carers has been screened.  In addition, presentations were held by guest speakers including keynote speaker Peter Gilbert, from the National Institute for Mental Health, and Reverend Dr James Hanvey, from the Heythrop Institute.

This seminar was an opportunity to network with others within the Catholic social care community, and to consider the current and future issues of pastoral and spiritual care for people with dementia.  The event was held at Salford Cathedral Community Centre.

It was aimed at:

  • Informal carers
  • Staff in hospital wards, residential and nursing care settings
  • Religious Orders and Catholic Voluntary Sector Organisations
  • Clergy and Parish Communiites, Hospital Chaplains
  • Diocesan and Deanery Advisors
  • Eucharistic Ministers
